Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
1. Overview and Purpose
Effective security is a team effort that requires the participation and support of every Safe employee and affiliate Safewho interacts with our information systems.
The purpose of this policy is to:
• Protect assets:
Safeguard the computer equipment, software and data of the company and our clients.
• Mitigate risks:
Prevent virus attacks, network compromises and legal issues arising from improper use.
• Establish a culture of integrity:
Maintain an environment of openness and trust without imposing restrictions contrary to our professional ethics.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, consultants and temporary workers of Safe, including third-party personnel with network access. It covers all equipment owned or leased by Safe, as well as the use of personal devices to interact with internal networks.
3. General Use and Ownership of Information
• Data Ownership:
All proprietary Safe information stored on electronic devices remains the exclusive property of the company.
• Reporting Responsibility:
The theft, loss or unauthorised disclosure of proprietary information must be reported immediately.
• Business Use:
Systems must be used primarily for business purposes benefiting the company and its clients during normal operations.
4. Security Standards
• Device Protection:
All computing devices must be protected by a password-protected screensaver with automatic activation set to 10 minutes or less.
• Session Management:
Users must lock the screen or log out when the device is not under their direct supervision.
• Password Security:
Passwords must comply with the established complexity policy (minimum 8 characters), and sharing them with third parties, including family members, is strictly prohibited.
• Malware Prevention:
Extreme caution must be taken when opening attachments from unknown senders to avoid introducing malicious software.
5. Prohibited Activities (Unacceptable Use)
Under no circumstances is the use of Safe resources authorised for activities that contravene our company ethics or are illegal. The following actions are strictly prohibited:
• Use in Military and Lethal Applications:
The use of Safe, its algorithms, computer vision models or technical infrastructure for any military or warfare application is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:
· The development, support or enhancement of weapons or weapon systems.
· Tactical surveillance systems intended to identify targets in conflict zones.
· Any use that directly helps cause physical harm to individuals or provides logistical support for acts of aggression.
· Safe has been designed exclusively for the protection of human life in civil, industrial and service environments, and any deviation towards warfare purposes will result in the immediate revocation of the usage licence.
• Ethical and Geographical Non-Aggression Restrictions:
Safe has been designed exclusively to safeguard life in civil and industrial environments. The use, deployment or distribution of the software and its AI models is strictly prohibited in any territory or by any entity where there is a reasonable risk that the technology could be instrumentalised for:
· Armed Conflicts:
Logistical or tactical support, or target identification in war zones.
· Genocide:
Any activity that facilitates the identification, persecution or harm of ethnic, religious or social groups.
· Persecution and Surveillance of Citizens:
Use of the system by regimes or bodies for the non-consensual tracking or persecution of individuals based on their ideology, origin or status.
· Suppression of Human Rights:
Any application intended to curtail people’s fundamental freedoms or civil rights.
· Current Specific Restriction:
In line with these principles, the distribution and use of the system is explicitly prohibited in Israel and any other territory involved in active processes of rights suppression or large-scale conflict.
• Intellectual Property Infringements:
Installing pirated or unlicensed software.
• Security Breaches:
Accessing data for which the employee is not the intended recipient, or attempting to bypass the authentication of any network or account.
• Network Attacks:
Running port scans, network sniffing or denial-of-service (DoS) attacks.
• Harassment:
Any form of harassment via email or phone through offensive language or mass messaging.
• Technology Export:
Exporting software or encryption technology in violation of international export control laws.
6. Social Media and Brand
• Confidentiality:
Disclosing trade secrets or proprietary information on blogs or social media is prohibited.
• Reputation:
No comments should be made that could damage the image or reputation of Safe.
• Use of Logos:
The use of Safe trademarks or logos on personal blogs is prohibited without prior authorisation.
